35o Clear Changeable Ther. Mon. Mar. 7th, 1898 Wind

This has been a beautiful and spring like day notwithstanding it looked so threatning last evening. After breakfast we all (except Harriet & little Dora) went to "Riverside" to be present at the interment of my dear brother Charles in the cemetery. Willie took me in his "Jagger." Edward bringing Fanny, Dora, & Jimmy Jackson. It was the most impressive and touching burial I ever attended, none but near relatives & a very few intimate friends being present (seventeen in all) instead of a large gathering, the funeral having taken place yesterday when all were invited. J Jackson left in afternoon stage for home. Willie & Fanny also left after dinner. We all came home to dinner. Harriet took charge of little Dora while her mother went to the burial.

32 Clear S.E. Ther. Tues. Mar. 8th, 1898 Wind

Another spring like day. Afternoon I was called by telephone and went to "Marden" to presribe for the infant George Marshall. Frank Hopkins called at office. I walked to Ashton & back. Edwd drove the carriage up to "Fairfield" and took photographs of the baby & brought the phaeton home. Kate Stabler called to see Dora. After supper Harry Fairall came to practice telegraphy with Edwd.
