25 degrees Ther. Cloudy NE Winds
Tues. Feb. 7, 1899
The snow was nearly a foot
deep this morning. I went to the
store & to Fairnall's Office & the
[srmitle] shop[?] the rods
(I had made) in the slei[?]
24 N.W.
It was clear this morning
& continued so all day with
quite strong N.W. wind
Clarence Gilpin sent us a
1/2 cord of oak wood on a
sled drawne by two horses.
before dinner and another
1/2 cord in the afternoone. He
came himself with the
last load and I paid him
for the wood ($250).
I went to the store and P.O.
towards evening Albric
Brookes son called to see
Edward who has not returned
from "Fairfield". The
sleighing is better than I have
known it to be in this country
for many years past. the [brush?]
being first frozen under it & the snow
deeper when packed than for
a long time. Every one seems
to be enjoying it to the full ex-
tent.
