Roger B Farquhars April 24_'80
The Enterprize Club met at Rock Spring
Wm S. Bond, Saml. Hopkins and P T Stabler were
absent. J. T Moore foreman.
This was our first meeting at the new
house of our host, a beautiful house
upon a site admirably adapted
to show it off . After the reading of
the minutes of the last meeting at this
farm we took an extensive walk
We found the new outbuildings convenient
The garden being at a new place was
not equal to what we have usually
seen here A patent harrow was exhibited.
We thought it a good thing
for a garden or for land entirely clear
of stones, and light-soil. The grass
fields had good sods upon them
An experiment with lime showed its
good effects in a very marked degree
The effect from stone lime apparantly
a little a head The corn field on the
near farm had more flint stones
upon it than we should have thought
it could produce at one crop.
The wheat looked very well
We found a black spot, in the management
of the horse stables Which
the groom informed us they did not
clean out "more an once in two months
or so"
