In line 2, there are two small marks that lie side by side on the line under the superscript.
These marks resemble periods, single quotation marks, double quotation marks, or even mini dashes, for the most part.
These marks will be present under all superscripts.

In line 3, the line after the word the last word in the sentence 'absent' is about 1/8 off the bottom of the line and is unbroken.
This also occurs in lines 4,6,8,9,11,12,16,18,21,23,24,26 and an Arthur Stabler special on line 29. These lines can be straight or start straight, slope some, and even hook at the end. Some resemble a Nike swoosh. The lines are drawn after the end of a sentence. Occasionally there will be just one dash, which would not appear in the lines noted here.
