and saw a splendid field of
corn. We felt well repaid
for the extended walk.

In lieu of an article by
our host, Asa Stabler gave a
very interesting account of a
very unique party. Seven
men most of whom were active
or honorary members of the E.C.
went to Gettysburg in auto
mobiles driven by J. B. Stabler
and S. Lemar Jackson. They
were W. W. Moore, Asa Stabler
Frederic Stabler, Wm Canby
Warwick Stabler James Holland
and Charles H. Brooke. Vivid
description of that disasterous
battle made them relive old
times and they came back
rejuvinated and 18 years young.

questions
1. Our host was advised to secure
some local market man to
handled the few apples he has
the fall.

2. M. O. Stabler asks if it is
too soon to sow wheat and
is told to start Monday morning
and get up early.

3. It was thought that Fred. Stabler
might shock his sweet corn
as soon as it had matured
sufficiently and that his
pumpkin vines could be
pulled at any time now.
