BARNARD WELSH -Asked why he had gotton a check from the Government
for seventy odd dollars. It was probably payment for lime or phosphate
applied under the Soil Conservation Program.

F. A. Thomas - Moved that the Secretary write letters to Governor
Lane and the Commandant of the Naval Academy expressing appreciation for
the hospitality extended us. Motion passed.

At this time the meeting adjourned for a mose bountiful dinner
at Carvel Hall. It would not be in order for the Secretary ot report the
amount of food consumed nor the after dinner stories which followed.

It might be mentions that the acoustics in the Sentate Chamber
are terrible. it is almost impossible to hear from the rostrum what is
said on the floor, and vice versa. This may account for some of the confusion
which attends the passage of some bills, and also for some of the
confusion of these minutes.

Stanley P. Stabler
Secretary
