The Home Interest met at Falling Green
on the 26^th of July, there being a display
of Heavenly fireworks rarely equalled on
any such occasion, accompanied by a rainstorm
which appeared to be a second edition
of the flood to those who were in it. But
eight members were bold enough to ford
all the raging torrents in their path, -
several reaching the stream at Rockland
and not daring to cross, your secretary
wishes here to record the fact that her
obstinacy probably saved three lives, to
say nothing of that of the uncertain
young horse of the party. In her absence
Pattie R. Stabler (having viewed the
house from the gate for some 45 minutes
on her way thither) was asked to serve.
