When the president called the Meeting
to order, we found ourselves missing
a secretary; I am sorry to record the
shocking conduct that followed, they
acted real school boy fashion, shoved
the work off on the youngest who could
not even read the writing; however
a kind brother offered assistance, and
the usual reading of minutes was
accomplished. The walk was next in
order while the flowers claimed the
ladies attention, the gentlemen seemed
interested in the pear trees. The Roses
were very fine and the Lillies handsome,
Plums, pears & peaches seemed to be plentiful,
and the yard very neatly kept.
We were invited into a bountiful
supper after which we adjourned to
the splendid large parlor and proceeded
to business. Under the head of Uns. bus
L.G. Miller proposed the services of Roger
and Lin Brooke for members. But as
Llewellyn Messey and wife had not
resigned, it was thought best to let the
matter rest for a time.
