surprise was expressed that we did not

After several postponements The Home Interest
gathered at Willow Heights - Jan 16th 1899.

An interior atmosphere of comfort and cheer
contrasted favorably with the rain and mud outside,
incident to the proverbial January thaw
in progress. Rebecca Brown of Lincoln Va. and
many other guests were present. Wm Moore called
the meeting to attention and the minutes were read.

Pres. elect Chas Farquhar then took the chair
but declined making a speech on the occasion.

As a result of advice given at the last mtg.
Bloomfield reports that sixty of the recreant
chickens have been induced to adopt the new hen
house, other [illegible] still prefer to provide for them
selves. Perhaps instinct or experience leads these
to connect safety with inaccesibility.

The chip vox produced a curious example
of the survival of eighteenth century superstition,
in an account of the recent sale at
