as always miss our absent members. The meeting was
called to order about half past 4, with W. S.
Bond as foreman. After the reading of the
minutes of the last meeting at this place, we walked
out to examine the garden, which we found partially
planted, and the flower beds being put in beautiful
order, and we were able to see one reason why our
hostess has such fine looking plants. No hard
lumps of earth to interfere with the roots, the soil
being pulverized as deep as a spade would go.
There is recent addition to the comfort of the gardener,
which we highly approve, a larger garden house
or shed, for storing fertilizer as well as all the
implements pertaining to the work. Our Host
is building a fine, pig pen, which promised a
very comfortable home for the growth of pork
and ham. After our return to the house the
minutes of this last meeting were read and
approved. And the subject of the Laundry was
brought up as unfinished business, in which Character
it will no doubt occupy us for several

I am not clear on the middle initial for the foreman who called the meeting to order. I'm thinking there should be a membership list somewhere for someone to confirm what letter it is.
