Sharon.

August 5th 1873

We met at Sharon. It was nearly a full
meeting the members from Alloway and Edgewood
being the only ones absent. We received with
great pleasure our new members Elizabeth
Hopkins
& Thomas and Beulah Lea. The
guests present were Mary B. Brooke and Charles
and Eliza. Mary J. Parker Harriet Kirk, Lydia
Hallowell
, R. R. Moore and Mrs. J. B. Russel.

The specimens were very fine: from
Rockland, cymlin corn tomatoes Limas and salsify
cucumbers and five kinds of apples labeled
from Leawood and a fine eggplant and Lima
beans. From Olney Cabbage potatoes beets tomatoes
and corn. From Springdale Tomatoes and Lima
beans. from Stanmore, cabbage and Tomatoes
Brooke Grove three kinds of tomatoes

There were beautiful bouquets from Brooke
Grove
, Avalon, White Hall Springdale and
Riverside and from Hermon a splendid
agapanthus lily and gladiolas and
from Stanmore a beautiful Japan lily.

Questions

1st What is the proper to move rose bushes? Spring

2 What time should lettuce and cabbage seed
be planted in a cold frame? The last of
October or the first of November.

3 What is the best time to sow turnip seed
