of us prefer spring but if done in the
fall next month recommended

Spring is preferable and it is thought
best not to cut off a large limb at all.

3 When should gladiolus roots be taken up?
Leave until just before the ground freezes

4th What shall I do to have flowers, how
acquire a knowledge of the first steps requi
red in the art. Attend the Horticultural meet-
ings always when invited!

5 Would it be well to save "early rose," dug
in July, for seed, or get seed in the spring?
Better to get new seed.

6 What should be done with a tube rose now?
Leave out until danger of the ground's
freezing. It is said that the root that
has bloomed will not bloom again but
the offsets make new plants which bloom at 3
years old.

7 What can be done to a pear tree that was
grafted twenty years ago and has only
borne on one limb? Try enriching the
ground and drive nails in the bark.
