The questions

1st What should be done with a Tuberose which
did not bloom last year and which had
a great many offsets? Take them off and
set out for new plant which will bloom
the third year and the large one will
probably bloom this year.

2 What two varieties of Raspberry are the
best or most satisfactory? Of the old
kinds the Philadelphia and Antwerp
seemed to be the favorites. The Scarlet old-
fashioned yellow and Doolittle black cap
are liked by many and of the New kinds
the Herstine and Mammoth cluster are
recommended.

3 How can crickets be kept out of hot beds?
Very few had been troubled with them. Twas
thought red pepper sulphur or phosphor-
ous might drive them off.

4th Will it pay to start gladiolus bulbs now
in flower pots? No, as by bringing them
forward now they bloom so early that the
hot sunshine makes them fade soon. If
they are left until it is suitable to plant
them in the open ground, the bloom
after the greatest heat is over & last longer
