Springdale.

April 6th 1875

The first meeting was held at Edward Lea's.
All the families of the society
were represented except from Sharon Olney
and Hermon. The guests were Lizzie Lyson
R. J Iddings Thomas J. and Fanny
Lea
Anna Gilpin and R. R. Moore.

The specimens were from Rachel Gilpin
a bouquet and a beautiful Calla
Mary Miller a bouquet, Hannah Stabler fine
apples Mary B. Hall a large tomato plant
very fine lettuce some Roses and a beau
tiful basket of apples, (name of variety
unknown) Eliza Brooke a bouquet of
Roses and Geraniums. Beulah Lea a plate
of violets. E. S. Iddings lettuce and a
plate of flowers from the garden and
Annie Moore an immense lemon from
Florida. M. B. Hall brought a large quantity
of curled-parsley seed for distribution.

The minutes were read and we find
the season was more advanced at
this time last year. Some of our mem
bers have not been able to have their
gardens dug nor plowed, Some had
planted all the early things and one
had lettuce radishes and some other things
