5 Will it pay to thin peaches this year
Some say yes tho' rather late, and oth
-ers decidedly no at present prices
for labor.

6 Will watermelons and cataleups mix
if planted side by side? No. Cantaleups
may mix with cucumbers and Watermelon
mix with pumpkins. Similarity in the
seeds show which vines will mix it is
said.

7 Which is the earliest tomato? Canada Victor
Conqueror and Brooks early are all
early but the soil makes a great
difference in the time of ripening; with
some the "Trophy" is still ahead.

8 How can we keep the earth out
of the heart of celery in hilling
up? Do not hill to high at a
time. Some protect by boards while
hilling; some plant so thick it bleaches
with out hilling.
