tention was being paid to that branch than
here-to-fore, there being more than 300 chickens
reported than in the corresponding month last
year- 555. More than the year before.

Questions

1 What remedy is there for the wholesale mortal
ity among chickens? Much discussion but
no remedy know. as what has seemed to
do well at one place has failed at
another. Suggested that cleaning the
place of chickens and getting an in-
tire new lot would be a good plan

2 Should a fig tree be raised in a hot-
bed or in the open ground? Either
