We held our first meeting for
the year 1880 at Olney on the 6th
of April. It was a very full meeting
only one missing family that
from Fulford. Our guests were Richard
and Edith Bentley, William John and
Rebecca Thomas Mary W. Kirk
Mary Roberts Kate Janney, Carrie
Taylor Sarah Kirk and Mary T.
Kirk. Our President was very happy
in his opening remarks, and
in response to his question wheth
-er we had anything to suggest
in the way of improvements in our
Society, a paper was read from
Margaret Magruder suggesting that
two members be appointed at each
meeting to bring a short article
to read for our instruction in hor
ticulture, poultry raising or in
household matters. It was gener
-ally approved as it would be in
-teresting to the old and improving to
the young. It was acted on at
once and Sarah B Stabler and Patty
Hopkins were appointed for the
next meeting.
