1st Why do the tops of salsify die at
this time of the year? Cause unknown.

3 How raise spinach? Sow in rows very
early in the spring or in September for
winter use

4 Should Chrysanthemums be allowed
to have the roots come out of the pot?

5 Has any one noticed that fruit trees
near a meat house do well? Several
instances were given of remarkably fine
and abundant fruit on trees so situated
Salt is recommended for quince trees
and salt and ashes or lye for peach
trees
