Aug. 25th 1885 noon Temp 92º

Our Society met a week earlier than the
usual time so as not to be in the way
of the Fair. The wether kept some of
our members away and some arrived
in the midst of a Thunder storm. Our absent
were those from Longwood, Sharon
Avalon, Cloverly, Falling Green, Willow Grove,
and Rock Spring. Our guests were Miss Thomson,
Carrie Reese, Hetty Moore, Annie Shoemaker,
Fred and Patty Stabler, Albina Stabler
Lizzie Taylor of Wilmington, Mrs. Parsons Deborah
Reese and Robert R. Moore

The Specimens were, from Rockland
Flowers, cabbage, Kolh rabi, cucumbers, cymlings
Lima beans, wax beans sweet potatoes
okra tomatoes beets and carrots. Riverside
corn, tomatoes, carrots, Lima beans canteleup
and flowers; The Cedars flowers.
White Hall apples, pears, grapes, plums,
peaches, okra, sweet potatoes, three kinds
of beans and flowers; Hermon, flowers,
Edgewood canteleups and plums.

The minutes were read and approved
The readers for this meeting were absent.
The secretary read a short article on the
best way to start Geraniums for winer
blooming. Our President asked all the
members to bring to the next meeting,
suggestions for the improvement of our
