Edgewood

June 27th 1886

The society met at Edgewood
on the evening of the 27th of June.

Our President spoke feelingly of our
great loss in the death of cousin Sarah
Stabler our oldest and one of our best
beloved members, remarking the fact
that she had attended our last meet
ing apparently in as good health as
her great age would permit.

The display of flowers and vegetables
was very good considering the lateness
of the season. From Rockland
there was cabbage, two kinds of lettuce
snap beans, onions, tomato size of a tea-cup
carrots parsnips, an ear of corn new
potatoes and flowers; from Hermon
cabbage, cymblings, potatoes, onions,
tomatoes, beans, and three bouquets
of flowers; The Cedars cucumber
5 in. long and flowers; White Hall
beans, ear of corn, beets, lettuce, pease,
raspberries and flowers; from Alloway
new potatoes and flowers; from
Edgewood cherries and gooseberries
Rock Spring cabbage, potatoes and beets
Olney raspberries, beets, onions, beans, pease
and flowers, and from Falling Green beets,
new potatoes, cymblings, onions and beans.
