Willow Grove

Oct 4th 1887 noon temperature 70°

At the usual hour, our society met, excepting
the members from Longwood, Sharon, & Cloverlea
Our guests were Mrs. Darlington Mrs. Carrie Brooke Pattie
Stabler, Lou Brooke, Samuel Bond, Sarah Kirk. Mahlon
Kirk and Lizzie Stabler.

The specimens were excellent in variety &
quality , from Alloway, celery, corn, tomatoes, turnips
Lima beans, salsify, and gorgeous Dahlias, marigolds,
shades : from Riverside pine apple or Cocoanut
Squash, grape tomatoes, lima beans, apples & flowers.
Brooke Grove parsnips, carrots, [salify?], turnips, celery,
lima beans, egg-plant, tomatoes, cabbage & flowers
and pop-corn raised by little Warwick.
Rockland, egg-plant, tomatoes, peppers, sweet-potatoes,
celery, cabbage, turnips, okra, lima beans,
corn beans, carrots & lettuce. Olney 3 kinds
of peppers, turnips & flowers. White
Hall turnips potatoes, peppers, lima beans
pears and flowers. Rock Spring Sweet potatoes,
cabbage, parsnips, carrots, peppers,
turnips, celery, cymlings & tomatoes.
Hermon , egg-plant, celery, corn, potatoes
turnips, peppers, kale, and flowers.
The Cedars 8 varieties of Begonias.
Fair Hill flowers, Walter and Carrie Brooke
splendid tomatoes and remarkably fine
roses and other flowers.
