Edgewood
July 7th 1903

On Tuesday July 7th 1903, the Horticultural
Society met at "Edgewood"
the residence of Hannah B. Stabler.
The continued stormy weather of
June had so retaraded all farm
work that many of the members were
not able to attend but a number of
guests were with us. The day itself
was a beautiful one and the occasion
so pleasant that those present
felt great pity for the absented
among whom was the secretary
Mrs. Iddings.
The president Roger B. Farquhar
called to order and the minutes of
the last meeting were read and approved,
after which the readers
for the day were called upon.
Eliza N Moore ahd brought several
short-articles which gave some interesting
facts. The first one was about a
curious plant called the Pelican, which
by suction acts as a fly catcher. The
