A fine day with a hot sun and
a pleasant breeze. Temperature 90°.
The minutes were read and correc-
-ted.
Readers. 1st Mrs. Davis read of spraying
plants with Electrified water. "The
discovery is an evolution from efforts to
kill locusts by spraying. The original ap
-paratus was erected in Argentina, the
inventor being spurred to success, not only
by the suffering of the people through
the destruction of their crops by huge
swarms of locusts. Success with this induced
him to try spraying with electrified
water, and then he found much greater
crops could be obtained by it. To eletrify
the water of river or artesian well,
it is pumped into an iron tank placed
on insulated supports and charged with
a dynamo. The wall of the tank serves as
the positive pole, the negative consists of
copper wire. It has been tested on Long
Island on a strip of barren sandy soil.
The growth was remarkable, rapid and
vigorous, much more so, than where plain
water was used.
