Forethought:

Since our last meeting we have
lost two members. On the 29th of October our
dearly loved Hannah B. Brooke died. Her quiet
peaceful manner combined with with a high
regards for truth and sincerity gave her a
wonderful influence over those who were
thrown with her. Her sweet patience during
her long illness, gave her a seat in the
midst of the pure in heart who may
see God. Joseph T. Moore, tho he seldom
attended the meetings, was a member
and his hospitable, genial, codial manner
that always graced the meeting at his
own house will ever be remembered by us
all. His generosity will long live after him
in the hearts of his many friends. x x x

The little gardening done in March
comes to nothing as yet; Melons, cucum
-bers and Lima beans can be planted in the
hot-bed the middle of this month: protect
from scorching and ventilate well and water.
Shift early tomatoes to cold [frame?] as soon
as danger of frost is over. The better
the soil the sooner the plants will grow
Clear off the flower garden. Move any
shrubbery that has to be moved at once
and trim vines and shrubs that need
it.
