of Samuel Jauncy.

Anna told us that, contrary to the advice
given her earlier in the summer, she had
moved many things to the new Invercauld
& many of them had lived! She asked
now what to do with trees that had been
ordered shipped at this time, & was told
to heal them in until ready to plant,
& we can but wonder what she did & the result!

What should be done with kale that had
grown too large? Try cutting off the tops.
One of our guests, Mrs. Frances Kennedy,
had visited in Holland during the
summer & told us of some things she had
seen there that were not just as we have
them in this country.

Our hostesses attractive home is so situated
that we can view it from several sides as
we pass along the road, & so gain some
idea from whence have come the remarkably
fine exhibits that have been brought
to our meetings from time to time.
