The acting secretary for last month
wrote Mrs. Iddings. Mr. Iddings called
Cousin Marianna by phone, the
morning of the meeting, to say that he
had hoped that they might attend
the meeting but his mother would
not likely be able to attend this summer.
She sent her love to the Society.

Questions.
Mrs. Bancroft asked if it was too early
to plant Gladioli. Most people thought
it was not.

Mrs. Tilton wanted to know if the
zinc chicken coops were satisfactory.
They have been used for several years
by Mr. Tom Waters. They like them very
much. Mr. Beall at Ashton will order them.

Mr. Bancroft again asked about
the wormwood lawn. He has done
everything that has been recommended
by the Horticultural except plow it. Mr. A.
G. Thomas
does not approve of plowing.
He advised keeping grass seed on hand
and sowing during the year as needed
nitrate of Soda & wood ashes were again
suggested, and Wm. Davis said some
lawns were like some Scotchmen, they
