its Lotus flower bird-bath for a centerpiece,
and the border of flowers, sans
weeds and grass, made a most
beautiful picture. While I was admiring
all this, the old boxwood hedge with
its new balance of Grape-vine opposite
to say nothing of the for-get-me-nots,
Cousin Roger Farquhar asked me if I
had seen the Raspberries, saying they
were in such wonderful condition
that they were worth putting in
the minutes.

May I quote, in closing, a poem by
Edgar A Guest, called May.

"Here's May in the world,
With her petals of pink.
And her skies just as bright
As a baby's first wink,
And the trees newly gowned
In the loveliest Green,
And young life where the scars
Of old winter have been!

Heres May once again!
With her Orchards in bloom,
Like a bride at the altar
