Mary Magruder inquired
at our Fucsias.
Not hardy in this climate.
Plant New Zealand spinach
now. Soak the seeds as they
are difficult to germinate.
It is not too late to transplant
wild shrubbery if done properly
& kept well watered. Lofton
Wesley has moved large poplars
and dog wood with success
so far. Lilacs often take
years to produce flowers. Lime
is good for them.
Lofton was advised to cut
back his American Elm
which was completely barked.
It may grow from the stump.
Fred Thomas was advised to put
in evergreens to protect
Tanglewood from the road
and noisy automobile travel.
Shall Richard Janney cut his
2 yr. asparagus which has
been one year in his garden?
Cut only the large stalks - very
lightly. Fertilize now & cut
next year.
Milton Bancroft showed
some ground ivy. "Nepeta".
"Field Balm". It is good for covering
bare spots, but is a weed. He has
put in grass seed to crowd it
out. Mary Stabler can cut her Viburnum
