Rebecca Small gave the Forethought re
port and said to: dust roses before a rain,
cut out raspberry and blackberry canes
after bearing, spray for lace wing fly,
take cuttings of bedding plants, examine
bearded iris for borer and gather and
burn diseased holly hocks. Rebecca
was unable to find a poem sepcifically
for August but delighted us with one
called "Midsummer".

The meteorologist gave us his report
as one inch of rainfall and a temper
ature of 73.5 for July.

The president appointed Mary Moore Miller
acting secretary for the month of September
as the secretary will be unable to be
present.
