Horticultural Mtg. Minutes
June 1955
Raymond and Ruth Havens entertained
their first meeting of the Horticultural,
on June the 7th (1955). The time
of the year, when promises of spring
have been fulfilled, and so it
seemed in their garden, with the
green grass, beautiful trees and flowers.
Best of all these wise gardeners, have
lovely spots to sit, rest and enjoy
the things they have brought about.
After enjoying the delicious supper
served across the road, the meeting
was called to order by the Pres., the
minutes of May read and approved.
Since our last meeting we
have all been saddened by the death
of Lofton Wesley. A member with interest
in every question, and much to contribute.
He practiced his knowledge
of the land, he practiced his religion,
and was loved through out
the neighborhood.
A letter of resignation was read
from "Alloway". We could not accept
it, and will write Isabel asking
her to let us look forward to the
time, when she might feel, there
would be comfort, in being again
