The Cedars - Wednesday, July 5th, 1972

The Horticultural Society met with
Helen and Douglas Farquhar on a cold,
cloudy afternoon after a stormy morning.
Too wet to get outside but we peered
out of the windows to get a glimpse of
the area surrounding the house. What
a rainy season this is -

After a delicious supper we met
in the living room where our President
called us to order. We proceeded with
the reading of the minutes of the previous
meeting, which were approved as read.
The treasurer reported a balance of
$48.15. Then Mary Reading Miller reported
that the committee had discussed
ways of spending at least some of this
money and she offered the suggestion
that we purchase a tree for Friend's
House - an English Red Maple had been
mentioned by Bob Mills. The group is
in favor of the suggestion but since this
tree should be planted in the Spring - final
action will be taken at a later date.
