"Great Ease" - Tuesday, June 5th, 1973

With the greatest of ease we assembled at
Betty Ligon's spacious and beautiful home under
tall forest trees. May apples and other wild flowers
grow in the shade, and a great variety of flowers bloom
in front of the picture windows of the house. Beyond
the trees is the circular flower border, and farther
West the flourishing, beautifully cared for
vegetable garden with asparagus, strawberries and
raspberries, and neat rows of vegetables coming
into maturety.

Supper selected from a variety of surprise
dishes was a delight as we partook of it on patio
or in the enclosure next to kitchen and dinning
room.

President Hussman called members to order.
Absent were Alan and Dale Thomas, Francis and Grace
Thomas
, and present were John and
Dorothy Weske who had decided that they could
continue as members, and Jennie Canby who with
Tom had been invited to become members to fill the
existing vacancy. Tom because of the pressure of
business commitments could not be present.

Minutes were approved as read.

Sylvia Woodward's "Forethought" advises that
we dry bulbs except amaryllis, and replant when
needed. Plant cabbage, broccoli etc. in seed beds.
2 more glad plantings can be made.

Douglas Farquhar Climatologist says that rain
fall was about average for May. A low of 280 was
reported by Bill Canby on May 19th A.D.F. reported
42°, and there was a high of 79° on May 9th. The average
hi was 67, AV. Lo 49.
