"Rocky Ridge" - Alan and Dale Thomas, Hosts.
As we drove along the tree-lined lane to
Alan's and Dale's we were impressed with
the healthy trimmed trees and and grass, and
around the house lawn, shrubbery and
garden were much admired. In the vegetable
garden a huge cabbage head lorded it
over tomatoes and other vegetables. Obviously
both Alan and Dale have green thumbs.
As usual we chose from a variety of
better than gourmet "cover-dishes" to fill
our supper plates.
Absent when Alan Thomas called us to
order were President Hussman represented
by daughter Mary, the two Canby families
and those world travelers Mannings and
Weskes.
Minutes were read and approved.
Mary Moore Miller reported on the Land
Use Bill.
Betty Ligon told us of her treatment
of sun-flower seed - rub the hand over
the head and if the tiny flowerets fall
off they're read. Dry them (Betty's
breeze-way with its heated floor is
ideal), then store the seeds in cans.
