Horticultural Society at Springdale -
Hosts Ellis and Lucy Manning with
Grandsons Ellis II and Peter.
In our sprawling Community may be found
a variety of homes, old family places, in-between
and new. We in the Horticultural are fortunate to
enjoy being entertained by families who live in
houses in one category or another. "Springdale"
stands high as a tasteful and beautifully
appointed place, the house filled with
treasures, and the grounds so well landscaped
reminding one of an English Park with trees,
box-wood, terraces, grass, paths and gardens
and the small pool showing planning and care.
After partaking of many delicious foods
President Hussman called the meeting to
order. Besies the two helpful grandsons
were guests Iris Beall with her guest, May
Ball, grand-daughter from California. Among
absentees were Weskes, Alan and Dale Thomas,
Francis & Grace Thomas, Betty Ligon, Jess Canby
Nancy Canby.
Minutes were approved as read, and
Caroline Hussman was appointed Reader.
Her selected article was from a
book entitled Fox.
We were given many interesting tips
on planting by signs and other legends
