Try this new yellow baby watermelon seeds. This
melon ripens in 75 days. Pick off dead lilac blooms
Plant gladiolas at 2 to 3 week intervals, so you may have
a succession of blooms. Plant annuals where they are to
bloom, e.g., nastursiums. Prune poinsettas to 6 inches,
repot and water. For roses spray, spray, spray, disbud
for larger blooms. Give iris an application of bone meal.
Cut pansy blooms so they will not go to seed. Make
chrysanthemum cuttings --- they will root easily. See that
peas have plenty of moisture.

Weather report -- Douglas gave us the following report
for the month of April, 1976:
High 90 on the 19th, Ave hi 68
Low 26 on the 11th, Ave, low 43
Rain .24 of an inch on 5 days!!!

Birds -- The Bullards have a pair of Baltimore orioles
Some one reported seeing a brown pelican. Sylvia & Elizabeth has been
visited by a white headed cardinal. Riverside has two
pairs of blue birds. An olive-back thrush, migrating,
stopped over to visit Elizabeth Ligon. ( He killed himself hitting the window).

Adjournment --- The Horticultural adjourned to meet
in June with Mary Moore Miller at The Cottage.
