THE HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
July Meeting, 1976.

The July, 1976 meeting of the Horticultural met with
Bill and Betty Hartge at Riverside on Tuesday, the 6th of the
month. Riverside has a special olace [place] in the Horticultural's
history: Betty's great grandmother Elizabeth Iddings
was the Society's secretary for many years in its
early days.

The meeting was called to order by the president
Robert Miller. The minutes of the July meeting were read
and were approved as read.

This was the first meeting for our new members Herbert
and Betsy Kinney; and it marked the return to membership
in our society of Wendy and Clive Lawrence. The news from
Alan Thomas was that he had been touring the Dakota Badlands
with Mrs. Manakee and that they were going on to Montana
to visit Mrs. Manakee's son.

We had as guests Bill Hartge's father and Mr. and
Mrs. Hanel anf [and] their young daughters.

Out [our] Forethought reader, Sylvia Woodward, who has
provided us with many forethoughts that should have improved
our flower and vegetable gardens, has been visiting
in England, and so we had to skip the forethought
at this meeting.
