On account of illness at Brooke Johns the January meeting of the association was held at Manor Club. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as read.
Mr. Bean suggested that the association give a rising vote of thanks to Mr. + Mrs. Johns for so generously allowing this organization to meet at their home. Moved + seconded + motion carried. Mr. Johns responded with a kind invitation to resume meetings at his home any time.
The question of a meeting place was opened for discussion. Mr. Bean offered

the opinion that Manor Club was too far south, + thought a location at Olney - probably a church - would be more suitable. Mr. Burns thought it would be better to find some place other than a church for meetings. Olney Inn was mentioned as a possible place to meet, and an offer was made to contact Mr. Downey with this in view, however the memebers were reminded that if the Inn was available the time would probaby have to be 9:00 p.m. so as not to interfere with business.
Mr. Barnsley suggested that meetings be held at Manor Club until a more suitable place was found. Motion made, seconded + carried.

Mr. Bean moved that the Secretary send a notice of the assoc. meetings to the "Evening Star" and request that a reported be present. Motion seconded and carried.
Mr. English, as chairman of the committee appointed to call on Mr. Fitzpatrick of the U.S. Housing Ahthority, read a detailed report of the conference. (This will be turned over to the Sec. for filing with minutes)
A general discussion of this subject followed. Mr Bean moved that for the present, we consider the Housing Auth. Projects as "dead property" and refrain from further discussion of

same at meetings. However, after several other opinions were expressed, Mr. Bean withdrew his motion and it was decided to continue thisa subject as infinished business. The committee was asked to continue on the look out for new developments or plans of the County Housing Authority.
Mr. Bean had the Secretary read an article printed in the "Evening Star" regarding "Faulty Sterilization at Mral - Time Rush in County." The work on inprection of eating places in Montgomery County has been stimulated as a result of the recommendations made some time ago by this association.
Mr. Bean suggested that a letter be written to the County Commisioner

stating that members of this association have read in a Washington newspaper that Mr. Grove is soon to be revieved of his office. In view of his splendid record in the county, the association was asked to indorse Mr. Grove. This was just in the form of a motion, seconded and carried.
Mrs. Whitlock reported that a request had been made by a colored landowner for some one to speak on the proposed housing units before a colored audience at Norbeck. It was hoped that a meeting could be held in the church on Redland Road in the first part of February.
