8. E. G. Thomas read some lines, written on the
death of a young girl at Patapsco Institute

9. M. Farquhar read part of an interesting
letter written by her son Edward, in western
Virginia, also a portion of a letter from a
friend travelling in England describing
hotel life etc. M. Kirk, J. Porter and
M. S. Hallowell nothing to offer.

A communication was received from Anna
Hartshorne desiring to become a member
of our society. There was no vacancy, but
in consideration of her having once belonged
the members agreed to reinstate her and
the Secretary was directed to inform her
of this decision. Pleasant talk, tea
and adjourned to Bloomfield
next month, the day to be appointed.
