And said Forget-me-not!"

L. T. Miller gave us an animated account
of her visit to the recent National
Convention of the C.T.U. held in
Nashville Tennessee

Jane Schofield read Mrs. Piggotts
Missionary Boy - containing the most
excellent moral "We do not appreciate
our blessings, until we begin
to count them, and then we find they
are almost innumerable.

Sarah Kirk recited "In as Much,"
a beautiful poem which appeared in
Harpers Magazine - We appreciated her
kindness in giving us the pleasurre of hearing
it and enjoyed it fully.

A. F. Gilpin read a parable, showing that
sometimes more can be accomplished by gentleness
than by bluster or force.

Having thoroughly enjoyed the day, we adjourned
to Walnut Hill - on the 29th of
next Mo. - to dinner

Sentiment "We cannot always enjoy the
conversation of those we love; there are many hours
when the mind must retire into itself to refer to
its own treasure for its support.

It is necessary therefore to form mental as well as
social connections & as the first are the least liable to be
broken, they are better worth our cultivation than the
last. A.J. Filpin, Sec, Pro, Tem
