Home is where affection calls,
Filled with shrines the heart hath builded.

The homes of the 19th Centure should
be the best of any preceeding period. Each
generation should be wiser and better.
I was particularly struck with the part
which said "We should feel it an imperative
duty to devote a portion of each day
to the culture of the mind, the moral sentiment,
and to devotional feeling,

That the home circle should be the place
of refuge from the cares, the business
perplexities and disappointments that are
a part of our experience.

Life, labor and the struggle for existence
belong neither to the one sex nor to the other,
but to the human family, and mutual support
and co-operation must hold a large
place in our homes, and exercise a strong
influence on husband & wife, parent & child,
brother & sister. Then, and not till then will we be
prepared to enter into a more extended
and general co-operation with the world outside
of our own circle.

Sallie A. Bond. Beautiful verses from the
Christian Observer, "Temple Building,"
thus showing in the silent hush of the night,
Alone with God in the pale starlight,
We build a temple of Wrong or Right
And our deeds of good or ill be brought,
