Mt Airy 9-27-1888

Some time after the hour for meeting
the Association was called to order at Mt.
Airy. 17 members and ten guests present.

After the reading of the minutes, the report
of the com. of the previous meeting to nominate
a Sec. for this organization was called for
and the name of Mary E. Moore was given
which was accepted, and she appointed for
the service.

Sarah T. Miller Sentiment by Jean Paul [Bitehir?]

E. D. Bentley then read a sketch of the silver
cross or "The Kings Daughters. In His Name -
The lend a hand society.

H. J. Moore's sort extracts were excellent -
one says, "You can never recall the word
that has gone out from your lips: once spoken
it is forever out of your reach, therefore be
careful what you speak" also, "Keep the atmosphere
of the family as pure as possible, and fragrant
with gentleness and charity."

M. S. Hallowell nothing to read, but
wanted information in regard to keeping
Hams through the summer. Bagging in muslin
dipped in whitewash as soon as smoked
has not been known to fail. Many other ways
were given, but seemed not to be always
relied upon.
