Rosedale, 1/25 1894

Eleven members and two guests assembled
at noon in the pleasant home of our
hostess Sarah H. Stone.

After doing full justice to a very
delicious dinner, the meeting was called
to order and the following sentiment
offered. "Let every Dawn of morning
be to you the beginning of life, and every
setting sun be to you as its close. Then
let every one of these short lives leave the
pure record of some kindly thing done
for others. Some goodly strength or
knowledge gained for yourself."

Edith D. Bentley read from a recently
published sketch of the Poet Whittier some
beautiful extracts of his life.

Jane T. Porter gave us the following
excellent clipping. How often do we
sigh for opportunities of doing good, whilst
we neglect the opening of Providence in little
things, which would frequently lead to the
accomplishment of most important usefulness?
