Rain, drizzle, mist, fog, mud, slop, ruts,
jolts, bumps, splash! But there! Mother
says unless you have something
pleasant to say, don't say anything! So
we won't mention the matter but go
right ahead to the _ _ meeting of
Miss Thomas' Association at Pleasant View
held January 29, 1903, where the kindly
greeting of our hostess at the threshold
and the good cheer with in were
so bright in their way, and so comforting
withal, as more the brilliancy and
marvel of the Autumn tints so graphically
pictured by our gifted Sec in reporting
the last meeting here. The gathering
on this occasion, was not large. Eight
of our number were scattered from California
to Bermuda, and three
were detained by sickness in
their households. But the nine members
who were present, and the guests of the
day, Emily Massey, Mrs. Samuel Scott,
Emma Bond, Sallie Taylor, Fanny Snowden,
and Mary A. Gilpin were prompt in
arriving, and the observance of time
was rewarded by as prompt at call
to dinner. We lingered over this
admirable feature of our program, and
enjoyed the turkey and accompanying
