10 Wanted a remedy for melon bugs? Sulphur and plaster suggested.

H/7/1891 -1- 279 Edgewood July 7th 1891 noon 81o A large company assembled at the usual hour. Fair Hill and Stanmore were absent. Our guests were Corrie Stabler Patty and Albina Stabler, Sarah and Mariana Stabler Richard Bentley and Miss Vanbuskirk - Eliza Miller and others

posed the Secretary be furnished with postal cards to remind them if their appointment a few days before each meeting. One member suggested that the host shoud notify the readers_ Another propostition was that various members should inform us of the work to be done during the month, instead of depending one person. Henry Miller being absent - other members gave the work for this month; i.e. plant cabbage plant cucumbers for pickles, plant corn for late use.

We were told that an expeditious way to break down the tops of onions was to roll a barrel down the row.

Questions 1 What is the best time to set out raspberry plants? In the Spring or any time after they are done bearing, take the young plants with white roots.

2 How clear muddy vinegar? Answer to be reported at a future meeting

3 How get geraniums to bloom in winter? Plant in good earth and keep growing. One who is very successful with them says some of hers are seven years old

4 What variety of corn plant now for late use. Stowells Evergreen or Minnesota Mammoth Sweet corns

14 Have any been troubled with a worm in the stalks of cucumbers? Yes, Several Many members complain that several corn does not come up. A. G. Thomas says not more than one third of what was planted this year, germinated; he purchased from - four seedsmen It is said to be proper to transplant celery as often as possible and some cut back the tops with scissors
