(I wrote the above in shorthand unconsciously
of the other part of these pages being different
until I had got to the last line) – We
have just completed soundings at
43 or 45 fathom some of the sand of
the bottom I have also preserved – We are
now a little more than forty miles from
Holyhead and no wind –.
The tide will no doubt take us back
– Impatience stalks abroad at noon-day
and thoughts to board the
first steam boat within our reach are
held out – and even desires expressed
now and then, that we could get into
Port !!! — but without more important
matter occurd I must stop as paper
is getting dear and scarce – This
afternoon a little wind from NE –
has been clear & coldish all day.
we are moving on slowly SE –
but if we get to Holyhead shall have
