enjoyments – while I shall have
to land among strangers and
bring whom I know not – for

However - It will no doubt
be all made up when I
get up among our ancesters
and rich old relations in
Yorkshire — tho rattling of
a few thousand ("[shorthand]") could
be quite musical to some ears —
and would fill a good many blanks
if not in hearts – in hands —
The Thermometer is now, (on deck)
at about: 63° – 10 mints before 10 oclock
– I have just been on deck and find it
still light eno to read or write as plainly
as I now do — The ship "put about" an
hour ago – our course by the compass
NW by N and no nearer our journeys
end than in the morning – The light
house on Bardsey Island to SE of
us, twinkling beautifully – it "revolves"
as it is called.– and thus ends
this day, and with it a little hope
springs up, that I shall soon hear
less of the accomanying talk and
