Benson & Co 31 Paradise St, and
had a little touch of style to
amuse the eye: Their business being
on so small a scale, having only
about eight & thirty clerks, runners &c
it was an easy matter to see

letter from FT of NY, which I delivered
and was pressed to make my
home at his house.– This kindness
was also manifested by James &
his Son Jno Cropper, but not being
certain of my stay, declined them
for the present – From this place
I went to the "Adelphi Hotel" to
call upon C & RL whom I found
in Splendid quarters – at least
