United States Vice-Consulate, Jaffa, Palestine
To all whom it may concern, greeting:
This Document certifies that I Clorinda Strong Minor, hereby deed to William Ballard of New York, United States of America, my right and title to a certain piece of land, — herein described, — said title received through a legal, well-authenticated and attested Deed made to me by authority of the Turkish Divan of Jaffa, from Emmanuel Kellis the former owner of said land, to whom, for said land I Clorinda Strong Minor have paid the sum of two thousand seven hundred twenty four piastres, the present countervalue in Jaffa of twenty four pounds sterling before received in draft from said William Ballard for this purpose. Consulate at Jaffa, in charge of its present officer, Jacob S. Murad.
The piece of land aforesaid lies about two miles north-east of Jaffa, on the west side of the native road leading to the mills on the river Ojy. Upon said land is an orchard of mulberry trees; also almond trees, and grape vines five years old. It contains about nine acres and embraces the southern area and extremity of a larger piece of land included in the aforementioned deed from Emmanuel Kellis.
