Heard to day that some one had
recieved a letter from the neigh-
bourhood of Jacksonville that
one Sunday when the young ladies
of St. Augustine were going to
Church they cut some pieces from
the flagstaff stump which was
left in the ground, & put them up
carefully as keepsakes. The Yankees
saw it & got very much provoked
at it & set the stump on fire. When
however the Ladies went again to
Church in the afternoon they brought
a plate & scraped the ashes up to
keep. Went to the city again on Police.

take up a single case. They have got to
be to keen for us. We can not
