of violating the Oath which he had
taken & carried him of. I suppose
it will go hard with him.

June 21. This morning I told our
Capt about what the mustering officer
had told that german. He said
that he would speak with the
Col. about it.

Sunday June 22. Thomas
Ponce recieved a letter from
St. Augustine today from
his wife & father. They say that
they have a pretty hard time in
St. Augustine. That they
canot by anything except
they take the Oath of Alligance
